About these 60th Birthday Cards
By sixty most people are being celebrated by children and grandchildren rather than by friends, which changes what the card needs to do. A good few of these get signed by three generations, so the designs leave room inside and keep the front elegant rather than loud. The number is treated as something to be proud of, not survived.
Cards are printed on heavyweight cardstock in my studio in Mallow, blank inside, with real foil pressed by hand. Silver and gold are the finishes that suit a sixtieth best, and both have a depth to them that printed metallic ink simply does not.
A5 is the practical choice when several people are signing it. If the grandchildren are giving something, the cards for grandparents range covers that specifically, and a personalised print makes a longer lasting gift. See also 70th birthday cards.
Your questions, answered
Everything you need to know before you personalise a card.
How does personalising work?
On the product page there's a box for the name, age or wording you want. Some designs add that text into the printed design itself, others leave the inside blank for you to write by hand. Each product page says which one it is.
Can I see a proof before it's printed?
For a straightforward name and date, I print without a separate proof. If your wording is longer or unusual, message me first and I'll confirm it before it goes to print.
What if I spot a typo after I've ordered?
Message me as soon as you can. If it hasn't gone to print yet I can fix it for free. Once it's printed and dispatched, a replacement is a paid reprint.
What foil colours do you offer?
Gold, silver, rose gold and holographic, plus gold holographic on some designs, I have over 30 foil color to choose from. Each product page shows which colours are available for that card.
Which size should I pick?
A6 is the standard card size and A5 is roughly double, better when the design carries a lot of wording or you want it to feel like a keepsake.
