About these Disco Party Cake Toppers
A disco cake topper is doing something quite specific. It has to look good under a phone flash in a darkened room, because that is where the photograph is going to be taken. That rules out most pastels immediately, and it is why these run neon, purple and metallic instead of the usual birthday palette.
Disco ball and pop star designs make up most of what is here, and the name is set into the artwork rather than piped on afterwards, which is the detail that gives away a rushed cake.
Printed to order with edible ink on icing sheet in my studio in Mallow, County Cork, in three sizes from 10cm to 20cm. It lays onto buttercream or fondant and settles into the surface within a few minutes. Dispatch is 2 to 4 working days by An Post. Topper questions, answered
Edible or non-edible, here's how each one works.
Are these edible or non-edible?
Both are available, and each product page says clearly which one it is. Edible toppers are printed on icing sheet or wafer paper. Non-edible toppers are printed on cardstock or glitter card and are decorative only, not for eating.
How do I put the topper on?
Edible toppers peel from their backing and lay straight onto buttercream or fondant. Non-edible toppers are inserted into the cake or display on a stick or stand, listed on the product page.
Will the colours match what I see on screen?
Close, but not always exact. Edible printing in particular can come out slightly softer than a backlit screen shows. Cardstock and glitter card hold colour more true to screen.
What name and wording can go on it?
Most designs take a name and age or a short message, entered in the personalisation box on the product page. I set it into the design exactly as you type it, so double check spelling before ordering.
How long do they take, and how long do they keep?
Made to order and dispatched within 2-4 working days. Edible toppers are best used within a day or two of the cake being finished, you can keep edible toppers stored in cold dark place but not in fridge for up to 6 months. Non-edible toppers can be made well in advance and kept until the day.
Can you do a custom design not shown in the shop?
Often, yes. Message me with the theme or the cake you're planning and I'll let you know if it's possible and what it would cost
